u201cI am not a judge, I am a storyteller; itu2019s the audience that need to judge.

Itu2019s only after Iu2019ve learned to love the people in the raw material and see them as complete human beings that I can pull out my dramaturgical toolbox and begin to reduce them to characters.u201d

Bio

I am a film editor. I began my journey in Havana, more than twenty years ago, where sitting in front of the moviola or in the editing room became my window to the world. I trained at ISA and then at EICTV, and I had the joy of learning at ICAIC with Miriam Talavera, editor of *Fresa y Chocolate*.

My work has grown among diverse accents and landscapes, with films that have traveled from the Havana Film Festival to IDFA and Clermont-Ferrand. I was part of the Berlinale Talent Campus and the ELAP program at Concordia University. Among the awards that have marked me the most are the FICCI 56 for *A poquito es noche* and the award for Best Editing for *Camionero*. Today I edit from Montreal, guided by intuition, attention to detail and the secret rhythm that each story demands.
